Silver nitrate pencils.
In small concentrations, silver nitrate has a bactericidal effect; in large concentrations, it has a corrosive effect, creating crusts. Potassium nitrate is the diluent so that the reaction of silver nitrate takes place gently. The mixture is placed on a pencil, like the head of a match, and can be used only once after being moistened. This medical product allows for use in specific areas so that the effect is limited to specific points in a precise manner.
For the treatment of warts, umbilical cord remnants, skin growths, treatment of wounds, aphthous stomatitis, to stop superficial bleeding and epistaxis (nosebleeds).
How to use
Treat only small areas of skin at a time.
For skin use: Prepare a clean and resistant surface. Wash the area to be treated. Moisten the head of the pencils by briefly placing it under drops of water. The color of the head changes and becomes white or light gray. Clean or apply the head repeatedly in a precise and even manner on the area to be treated. The treated area changes color in a short time and becomes black; over the course of a few days this area will be rejected by the surrounding tissue. Repeat the treatment every 2-3 days until the desired result is achieved.
Warnings
Do not use if allergic to silver nitrate or potassium nitrate. A change in color of the treated area may last up to 24 hours.
To treat any type of skin change that presents uncommon changes in pigmentation or shape and that is not clearly recognizable as "granulation tissue" or as a simple wart, pencils should be used under medical supervision.
Do not touch the head (corrosive substance) of the silver nitrate pencil with wet hands.
Protect clothing and other items when handling the pencil.
Silver nitrate causes black and brown stains that cannot be removed with regular detergents.
Wash healthy skin that has accidentally come into contact with the pencil head thoroughly with water and a sponge; however, these areas of skin may suffer a harmless pigmentation change, becoming darker. This pigmentation change disappears after about 10-14 days.
If the pencil comes into contact with the eye, rinse the eye immediately under running water with the eyelids open for at least 5 minutes continuously and then seek medical attention.
In case of application in the mouth area, it is essential to ensure that no parts of the head are swallowed.
Treatment of children under 3 years of age only after personal medical advice.
Consult your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medical product during pregnancy or breast-feeding, or if you think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby.
Keep out of reach of children.
Do not use after expiry date. Do not dispose of with household waste.
