OPHTHALMIC SOLUTION HYDROFLOG HYALURONATE ACID 2 MG/ML AND HYDROCORTISONE SODIUM PHOSPHATE 10 MCG/ML 10 ML
Hydroflood
Description
Ophthalmic solution containing sodium hyaluronate which, thanks to its mucomimetic and pseudoplastic properties, is distributed uniformly on the ocular surface forming a protective viscoelastic bandage. In this way, by performing a mechanical action (“barrier effect”), IDROFLOG stabilizes the tear film and reduces friction caused by eye movements and blinking, protects the surface of the eye by promoting the repair processes resulting from suffering of the corneal epithelial cells due to hyposecretion of the tear film. In fact, in cases in which the glands responsible for secreting the tear film reduce - for various factors - their normal activity, the corneal surface remains more exposed to external insults. The latter, over time, cause a malfunction of the corneal epithelial cells with the associated risk of the onset of annoying inflammatory processes. The application of the IDROFLOG bandage allows to protect the corneal surface from exposure to external insults and, thanks to the ancillary action of Hydrocortisone Sodium Phosphate (low-dose cortisone agent, low anti-inflammatory power and short duration of action), helps to prevent the risk of any recurrence of inflammatory phenomena. IDROFLOG is intended for limited use over time and in any case under the direct control of a specialist doctor. Finally, IDROFLOG, thanks to its particular saline composition, restores and maintains at physiological levels the concentrations of important ions, such as sodium, potassium and magnesium, essential for the well-being of the ocular surface. The device does not contain preservatives.
How to use
It must be dosed individually according to your condition and according to the recommendations of your ophthalmologist. In general, instill 1-2 drops of the solution into the conjunctival sac of the eye to be treated, 2-4 times a day. The total duration of treatment is 2-6 months but must be specifically established by the specialist doctor and in any case under his direct control (a follow-up every 30-45 days is recommended).
Open the bottle by removing the protective tab. Remove the cap. Pressing on the inverted bottle, instill 1-2 drops of IDROFLOG into the conjunctival sac, letting them fall from above. Always close the bottle with its cap after use. Do not damage or disassemble the bottle and do not damage or mechanically block the dropper orifice. IDROFLOG can also be used when wearing contact lenses.
Components
Sodium hyaluronate 2 mg/ml, hydrocortisone sodium phosphate 10 mcg/ml, trisodium citrate, sodium chloride, potassium chloride, magnesium chloride, dibasic sodium phosphate, monobasic sodium phosphate, purified water.
Warnings
Hypersensitivity to the components or other closely related substances from a chemical point of view. In conjunction with viral contamination of the ocular surface, keratitis ulcers, mycosis of the eye, purulent conjunctivitis, purulent and herpetic blepharitis, stye. Generally contraindicated in pregnancy, during breastfeeding and in pediatric age.
The product, due to its viscoelastic properties, may cause blurred vision upon instillation. Wait for this effect to wear off before driving or using machinery.
IDROFLOG is for external use only. IDROFLOG should not be used immediately before the administration of medicinal products for curative purposes, and within twenty minutes after the application of any topical pharmacological therapy. If during treatment you notice a worsening of the eye symptoms, contact your doctor. Prolonged use may cause inconveniences: the total duration of the treatment must be established by the ophthalmologist. If an inflammatory process is already underway, the specialist doctor will decide on the appropriate anti-inflammatory therapy in order to restore the physiological conditions of the ocular surface. To reduce the risk of contamination, each bottle must be used by one person only. Wash your hands thoroughly before use. Avoid allowing the tip of the dropper to come into direct contact with your fingers, your eye, your contact lens or any other surface. Also avoid allowing the dropper to come into contact with dirt or dust.
In rare cases, slight blurring of vision has been observed upon instillation, which is due to the viscosity of the solution. A slight burning sensation may occur during instillation. This sensation, however, will disappear. Contact your eye doctor if the symptoms persist. Following the instructions in the package leaflet reduces the risk of side effects.
Do not use IDROFLOG after the expiry date indicated on the package. The expiry date refers to the intact and correctly stored product. Do not use IDROFLOG if the bottle is damaged. Keep out of the sight and reach of children. IDROFLOG must be used under the advice of a specialist doctor. In the event of any accidents, it is necessary to report them to the Manufacturer, the Notified Body and the Competent Authorities.
