CANDIDA TEST
Description
Rapid, easy-to-use, at-home test for detecting vaginal yeasts (especially Candida) in vaginal discharge.
How to use
Sample collection
Remove the swab from the wrapper. Hold the swab in the center of the stick.
Gently insert the tip of the swab 2 cm into the vagina. Rotate the swab for 20 seconds, touching different areas of the vaginal walls. Carefully remove the swab from the vagina.
Preparing the device
Remove the device from the sealed case and place it on a flat, horizontal surface. Keep the device in this position while performing the test.
Hold the device steady with one hand. With the other hand, carefully remove the aluminum cover of the purple cap. The purple cap contains the liquid at the bottom of the cap.
Running the test
Apply the sample to the test device. Insert the swab into the opening of the purple cap. Rotate the swab for 20 seconds so that the sample is drawn from the swab into the liquid. Gently press the swab against the inside of the purple cap to remove excess liquid. Remove the swab and discard it in the trash.
Holding the device firmly, rotate the purple cap from position "a" to position "b". Then, return the purple cap to position "a". Repeat rotating the purple cap from position "a" to position "b" and back to position "a" (2 more times). Return the purple cap to position "b" and leave it there.
Start timing and wait for the blue control line to appear. Start measuring and wait 10 minutes. After 10 minutes check for blue lines in the result window. Do not read the results after 20 minutes.
Interpretation of results
POSITIVE: Two blue lines appear in the results window, the test line (T) and the control line (C). It does not matter if one of the lines is lighter or darker than the other, the result is still considered positive.
NEGATIVE: If after 20 minutes only the control line (C) appears and the test line (T) does not appear, the result is negative. Negative results only apply to vaginal yeast infections, but the symptoms may be indicative of another type of infection. Contact your doctor if symptoms persist.
INVALID: If the control line (C) does not appear after 20 minutes, the test is to be interpreted as invalid. Perform the test again using a new test device and a new sample.
Warnings
For in vitro diagnostic use only. Not to be taken internally.
Single use: the test is not reusable.
The test only works if you follow the instructions carefully.
Negative results do not rule out the possibility of other infections. Consult your doctor.
Positive results do not exclude the presence of co-infections with other pathogens.
Positive test results do not differentiate between Candida species.
False negative test results can occur if the sample was not collected properly, if the sample swab was not mixed with the liquid in the purple cap of the test device, or if the antigen level is below the detection limit of the test.
A negative result does not eliminate the possibility of a candida infection and should not be used as the sole basis for diagnosis, exclusion of infection, or infection status.
Do not test if you are menstruating.
Do not test within 7 days of taking medications for vaginal infections.
Do not perform the test within 24 hours of using any creams, gels, foams, douches or other vaginal products.
The evaluation of the CANDIDA TEST for self-analysis did not include pregnant women and women under the age of 18.
Do not use the kit if the sealed pouch is torn, punctured, or damaged.
Do not use the kit if any items are missing from the package, if they are broken or if the package is opened.
