Medical device.
Sterile adhesive mini bag in low-density polyethylene (LDPE), heat-sealed on the edges and latex-free, for urine collection in pediatrics and neonatology.
Available in male or female versions, with or without a discharge valve that can be connected to the cone of a syringe, to perform urine sampling in optimal hygienic conditions, to avoid possible contamination.
Neonatal bag capacity 40 ml.
How to use
Make sure the bag size is appropriate for the weight of the child. Wash your hands thoroughly, lay the child on his back with his legs apart. Clean the skin thoroughly with water and appropriate detergents. Use antiseptic solutions only if necessary.
The skin must be dry, not covered with creams or powders and must not present any irritation. Detach and discard the central disk, gently and completely remove the coating that protects the adhesive.
Apply the bag around the genitals, massaging gently to ensure complete adhesion. For bags with an outlet device: ensure that the outlet device is closed before application. The closure device has been specially designed for direct sampling with a syringe and with a connection for all types of connectors.
To remove the bag, lift a corner and gently peel off. To prevent the collected urine from leaking out, stick the two edges of the adhesive together and possibly reinforce with a plaster.
To correctly perform biochemical, cytological or bacteriological tests, avoid leaving the bag in situ for more than 30 minutes, in order to avoid possible contamination of the urine (false positives).
Use a new bag even if the one in use is empty. Send the urine to the analysis laboratory within 2 hours of collection. If this is not possible, the sample must be stored in a refrigerator for no more than 12 hours. Indicate the collection time on the bag.
Depending on the amount of urine produced, replace the bag when necessary: replace if it is poorly adhesive or if there are defects.
Warnings
Single use: do not reuse.
Conservation
Store at temperatures not below 0°C and not above 25°C.
Validity with intact packaging: 36 months.
Keep away from direct sources of light and heat.
