Prebiotics are non-vital food components that provide health benefits by modulating the microbiota. This class of substances includes fructo-oligosaccharides (FOS) and inulin: complex and indigestible carbohydrates, found in small quantities in various plant species.
Probiotics are live, active microorganisms that, when administered in adequate quantities, are able to colonize the intestine and exert a beneficial effect on the body, promoting the balance of the intestinal flora.
Vitamins B6, D and folic acid contribute to the normal function of the immune system.
