Description
Medical device against chronic constipation in adults and children.
Macrogol is not absorbed or fermented in the intestine, does not irritate the mucosa and is eliminated in the feces. In fact, thanks to its affinity with water, through osmotic action, it softens the feces facilitating evacuation without causing cramps, abdominal pain or emergency conditions. Its effectiveness is not reduced over time.
Furthermore, the simethicone present in the formulation, thanks to its anti-foaming action, is effective in absorbing gastrointestinal gas associated with constipation.
How to use
Children 1 to 6 years: 1 sachet per day.
Adults and children from 6 years: 2 sachets per day.
It is recommended to take the product between meals. If the conditions still persist after taking the product, it is recommended to consult your doctor. Take the product directly from the sachet or dilute the product in a little water first.
Components
Macrogol 4,000, simethicone; excipients: water, sucralose, orange flavouring, vegetable glycerin, polysorbate 80, sucrose esters, potassium sorbate.
Warnings
Do not take Redipeg if you have:
- intestinal stenosis;
- intestinal perforation;
- irritable bowel syndrome (e.g. Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis).
Do not take if you have intestinal obstruction.
There is no experience with taking Redipeg during pregnancy and breastfeeding, so it is recommended to take Redipeg only when necessary on medical advice. in patients with real impairment, it is not necessary to adjust the dosage. The duration of treatment with Redipeg should not exceed 2 weeks. If necessary, the treatment can be repeated. Prolonged use may be necessary in case of refractory and/or chronic constipation. This type of refractory constipation can be caused by drugs, painkillers (opioids) and drugs for the treatment of Parkinson's disease (anticholinergics), or appear in the case of diseases such as multiple sclerosis or Parkinson's disease.
Sometimes gastrointestinal disturbances, rumbling, abdominal pain, nausea and mild diarrhea (especially at the beginning) may appear. Rarely, hypersensitivity reactions (rash and urticaria) may occur. However, if intolerance or other side effects occur, immediately stop treatment and consult your doctor. If symptoms persist, consult your doctor.
When ingested with other drugs, Redipeg may modify their bioavailability. In particular, the osmotic power of macrogol and the increased speed of induced gastrointestinal transit may negatively influence their efficacy. Therefore, it is advisable to postpone the intake of the product by at least 2 hours from the administration of drugs taken orally or food supplements. In any case, consult your doctor before taking Redipeg in the case of other ongoing therapies.

Simethicone may interfere with the effect of some reagents used in diagnostics, such as guaiac gum.
Conservation
Store Redipeg in a dry place away from direct sources of heat or light.
Open the sachet only when in use.
Keep the device at a temperature between 15°C and 25°C.
