Description
Medical device based on Macrogol 4,000 and psyllium fiber indicated for the treatment of occasional and chronic constipation in adults, adolescents and children.
Product with laxative action that, thanks to the osmotic mechanism, regulates intestinal functions. It is not absorbed, does not irritate the mucosa and is eliminated in the feces in an unchanged form.
- Macrogol attracts, by osmosis, a high quantity of liquids into the intestinal compartment, hydrating the fecal mass and stimulating peristalsis.
- The mucilages present in psyllium fibre, by absorbing the liquids drawn into the intestinal lumen by macrogol, increase in volume (up to 30-40 times their dry volume) increasing and softening the fecal mass.
Macrostip Psyllium softens the stool, making evacuation easier and more gentle.
Its action does not decrease over time.

Ingredients
One 9 g sachet of powder contains Macrogol 4,000 5 g, psyllium fibre 3 g.
Excipients: fructose, magnesium stearate, natural flavouring, sucralose.

Without lactose , gluten , preservatives, flavourings.

How to use
Adults: 2 sachets per day, preferably morning and evening.
Children and adolescents aged 6 to 14 years: 1 sachet per day.
The duration of treatment is approximately 2 weeks. In long-term treatment the dose is 1 sachet per day.
Open a sachet and pour the contents into a glass (200 ml). Fill with natural water (still). Mix well for about 10 seconds and drink immediately after diluting the powder. Any increase in consistency of the solution is a characteristic of the product. In order to obtain an optimal result, it is recommended to drink 1-2 glasses of water afterwards. It is recommended to take Macrostip Psyllium away from meals, at any time of the day, up to half an hour before bedtime.

Warnings
Do not take in case of known hypersensitivity to the raw materials, gastrointestinal perforation and/or obstruction, known gastric or intestinal lesions, severe inflammatory diseases of the gastrointestinal tract such as Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis and toxic megacolon.
Due to the increase in the speed of gastrointestinal transit induced by the product, there is a possibility that its use in conjunction with other products or drugs may temporarily reduce their intestinal absorption. In addition, psyllium seeds may enhance the effect of hypocholesterolemic and hypoglycemic products or drugs. Therefore, in such circumstances it is advisable to take Macrostip Psyllium at least 2 hours before or 2 hours after taking such products or drugs. However, consult your doctor before taking Macrostip Psyllium in case of other ongoing therapies, including oral contraceptives and lithium-based drugs. Macrostip Psyllium may potentially interact if used with starch-based food thickeners. The macrogol ingredient counteracts the thickening effect of starch, thereby liquefying preparations that must remain dense for people with swallowing problems.
While taking it, you may experience side effects such as indigestion, stomach pain or rumbling, bloating, flatulence, nausea, vomiting, anal irritation and mild diarrhea. These effects improve by reducing the dose. In case of allergic reactions, you should stop taking it and contact your doctor. If you experience any side effects, inform your doctor or pharmacist.
Keep out of the reach and sight of children. During pregnancy and breastfeeding consult your doctor before taking the product. Use in children under 12 years of age should preferably take place under medical supervision. Do not use Macrostip sachets for more than 30 consecutive days, if symptoms persist consult your doctor. Avoid contact with eyes. Do not use if the package is damaged. Treatment of fecaloma requires the intervention of a preventive opinion from a doctor.

Conservation
Store the device tightly closed in a cool, dry place, away from light and heat.
