Inulin is an oligosaccharide, essentially a soluble fiber, composed of long chains of fructose. Inulin is extracted from agave. Although indigestible by humans, inulin has very interesting nutraceutical characteristics that support the well-being of the intestinal flora.
Thanks to its ability to promote digestion and regulate intestinal function, it is a typical ingredient in many food supplements.
Inulin has the ability to increase the percentage of bifidobacteria in the intestinal microbial flora, while decreasing the density of harmful bacteria thanks to its prebiotic effect.
