Ketone Test Strips
The strips contain a biosensor and use the enzyme HBDH (Hydroxybutyrate Dehydrogenase), which is specific for measuring ketone in blood from 0.1 to 8.0 mmol/l. When blood comes into contact with the test tip, capillary action draws the blood to the reaction zone; the enzyme then reacts with the ketone and produces an electrical signal. The signal can be measured.
