EXUFIBER 10X10 CM 10 PIECES MOLNLYCKE ABSORBENT GEL-FORMING FIBER DRESSING
Exufiber
Description
Interactive absorbent dressing consisting of non-woven gelling fibres of polyvinyl alcohol (PVA). Exufiber is indicated for the management of a wide range of moderately to highly exuding wounds such as:
-ulcers of the lower limbs
-pressure ulcers
-partial thickness burns
-surgical wounds
-donor sites
-tumor/neoplastic lesions.
Exufiber is a hydrophilic dressing that absorbs and retains moderate to very abundant exudates. Upon contact with fluids, Exufiber fibers interact with the exudates and immediately gel, facilitating natural healing of the wound in a moist environment and removal during dressing changes.
Benefits : soft and conformable, it is easy to apply; can be cut to adapt to the wound; high absorbency, for moderate and very abundant exudates, even under compression; effectively retains exudates (Hydrolock* technology), maintaining the moist wound environment; high compactness, which allows removal in a single piece; absorbs and retains exudate, bacteria and blood; can remain in place during radiotherapy and diagnostic imaging sessions; exerts a protease modulation activity, balancing the inflammatory response.
*Hydrolock Technology: patented technology, present exclusively in Exufiber, which actively interacts with exudates and, thanks to the particular weave of polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) fibers. It gives high resistance and compactness to the dressing, when wet. It prevents fluids from moving freely inside the dressing, giving it an excellent capacity to retain exudates.
Composition
Exufiber is made of 100% polyvinyl alcohol (PVA).
How to use
1) Clean the wound with saline or water. Dry the periwound skin.
2) The dressing should be larger than the wound. At least 1-2 cm for smaller sizes and 5 cm for larger sizes. For deep wounds, insert the dressing into the cavity, leaving enough space, to allow the dressing to swell during absorption.
3) Cover with an appropriate secondary dressing, depending on the level of exudate. Exufiber can be used under elastic compression dressings.
Dressing Replacement and Removal : Replace Exufiber dressing when fully saturated, if leaking, or as directed by clinical protocol. Exufiber may remain in place for up to 7 days (14 days on donor sites), depending on wound condition or clinical protocol indications.
-Remove the secondary dressing and dispose of it appropriately.
-If necessary, remove the Exufiber dressing by gently cleansing/rinsing. The non-gelled portions will become moistened by contact with a liquid.
-If the dressing becomes dry and difficult to remove, it is recommended to moisten it with sterile saline or water according to clinical protocols until it can be easily removed. Exufiber may take several minutes to gel.
-Remove dressing by gently cleansing/rinsing.
Warnings
All lesions should be checked frequently. If symptoms of infection occur, consult a qualified healthcare provider for proper treatment.
Exufiber is not indicated for the treatment of dry wounds or full-thickness burns.
The dressing may take a few minutes to gel. Remove gently.
When Exufiber is used in cavities, do not completely fill the wound, but leave enough space for the dressing to swell during absorption.
The sterility of the individual packaging is guaranteed for 3 years, provided that it is intact, i.e. has not been opened or damaged.
Do not resterilize.
