PIC GLUCOTEST GLUCOMETER KIT PIC
Pic Glucotest
Description
Complete kit for blood glucose measurement.
The glucose contained in the blood sample reacts with the reagent on the test strip, creating a small electrical current. The amount of current generated depends on the amount of glucose present in the blood.
The Pic GlucoTest glucometer measures the created current and converts the measurement into the blood glucose concentration. The blood glucose result is displayed on the glucometer's LCD display.
The gold electrode on the strip ensures high accuracy and precision.
Technical specifications
How to use
To obtain accurate results, allow the glucometer to acclimatize to the surrounding environment (temperature between 10 °C and 45 °C).
If the ambient temperature is above or below the correct range, a thermometer icon will appear on the display. Move to an area where the temperature is between 10 °C and 45 °C, wait 30 minutes, and perform a test. Do not artificially heat or cool the glucometer.
Remove a new test strip from the container and reseal it tightly.
The glucometer turns on using one of the following two methods: pressing the ON/OFF button and/or inserting the test strip into the slot while off.
When the blood drop symbol flashes (Blood Stand-by screen), the glucometer is ready to perform the test.
Bring your finger close to the end of the strip until the golden window of the strip is completely filled with blood. The blood will be automatically drawn into the strip.
If the beeper is active, the glucometer will emit a signal to indicate that the measurement is starting. After applying blood to the strip, a countdown from 5 to 1 seconds will appear on the display. After 5 seconds, the result will be displayed. The blood glucose result is displayed in mg/dL or mmol/L.
For accurate results, no more than 20 seconds should pass between sample collection and measurement (sample evaporation can cause a test result higher than the actual value). The blood sample volume must be at least 0.3 mcL.
The glucometer stores measurement results with the date of execution in its memory.
If the test result is below 70 mg/dL or "LO" appears, it may indicate possible hypoglycemia. This condition may require immediate intervention based on your doctor's recommendations. Although this result may be due to an unlikely analysis error, it is preferable to intervene immediately and then repeat the test.
If the test result is above 180 mg/dL and "HI" appears, it may indicate hyperglycemia. If there are no symptoms, repeat the test. If results still exceed 180 mg/dL and symptoms are present, consult your doctor for guidance on what action to take.
Cleaning the glucometer:
Avoid dust. If you need to clean the glucometer, carefully follow the following guidelines.
To prevent glucometer malfunction, avoid the penetration of blood, moisture, dirt, or dust into the strip slot.
To clean the glucometer, use a lint-free cloth dampened with water. Wring the cloth thoroughly before use. Do not use an abrasive cloth or an antiseptic solution as they may damage the display.
Storage
Store the glucometer, test strips, control solution, control strip, lancing device, lancets, and manuals inside the appropriate case.
Store test strips at an ambient temperature between 2 °C and 32 °C. Do not refrigerate or freeze.
Frozen and thawed reagents can produce inaccurate blood glucose results.
Protect the test strip slot from dust.
Do not expose test strips to moisture and direct sunlight, and store them in a cool, dry place. Close the container tightly after removing a test strip. The test strip container is able to maintain the correct humidity, so do not transfer the test strips to any other container.
Store Pic Control Solution at a temperature between 8 °C and 30 °C.
