CE medical device. Self-adhesive occluder used in orthoptic therapies for amblyopia and strabismus. • Glue: hypoallergenic adhesive free of natural rubber latex and free of solvents, suitable for the particularly delicate and sensitive skin of children. Removal is comfortable and avoids trauma even in cases of prolonged use.
• 100% coloured cotton non-woven fabric support that allows skin transpiration, avoids the problem of sweating and offers high comfort. The shape of the occluder adapts optimally to the anatomy of the periocular area.
• Central pad made of a very thin trilaminate material inside which there is a black photo-absorbent screen which prevents the filtration of light from the outside.
• Shape: the shape of the patch is elongated in the area of adhesion to the nasal bridge and allows the correct wearability of glasses at the same time as the occluder. The glasses are well aligned, avoiding out of focus and discomfort for the patient. The elongated shape of the patch prevents lateral filtration of light. This attribute of ORTOPAD prevents abnormal movement of the ocular muscles that can cause a worsening of the pathology. The incisions in the area of adhesion to the nasal septum effectively prevent the formation of wrinkles on the patch that could cause premature detachment of the occluder and a reduction in comfort during orthoptic therapy.
