The product is intended for managing ostomy output.
Esteem Body with Leak DefenceTM for urostomy is a disposable one-piece collection device. The pouch adheres to the skin via a Durahesive adhesive barrier. The convex structure of the barrier allows for managing stomas that are poorly positioned or introverted relative to the skin surface.
The pouch is indicated for urostomy patients who desire a secure device that is easy to apply and remove. The tap at the bottom allows for easy emptying of the pouch when needed. The provision for attaching to an abdominal belt ensures greater adhesion security of the pouch.
The pouch is available in both transparent and neutral colors.
The neutral-colored pouch, through an opening window on the outer side, allows for monitoring correct placement and checking the stoma when necessary during use.
Warnings
- Before applying the pouch, check that the skin barrier is free of sharp edges.
- Patients with flat urostomy, if associated with megaureter and the absence of a urinary reservoir, should be informed that cases of adhesive residue found in the urinary tract have been reported. If a mass is detected, appropriate clinical management should be initiated, and an assessment made as to whether or not to continue using the adhesive product.
- This device is for single use only and must not be reused. Reuse may lead to an increased risk of infection and cross-contamination, and the physical properties of the device may no longer be optimal for its intended use.
- The use of convex skin barriers must be pre-evaluated by a physician.
