Hypertonic solution

Medical device CE 0476 for nasal irrigation, indicated for daily hygiene through the shower of the nasal mucosa, in order to prevent obstructions due to stagnation of phlegm secretions or for those who suffer from breathing difficulties due to pathologies such as: allergic rhinitis, rhinosinusitis, turbinate hypertrophy. The hypertonic solution produces a natural decongestion of the mucous membranes.

Intended use
The device allows the sterile and apyrogenic (hypertonic) physiological solution contained in 250 or 500 ml bags to flow by gravity or manual pressure into the nasal cavities (upper airways). This device has an irrigation nozzle at one end that directs the jet of physiological solution towards the nasal cavity meatuses, exerting a powerful cleansing action in the cavities themselves and in the nasopharynx, promoting the removal to the outside of all secretions, dust, allergens and chemical substances that may be present.

Dosage
For adults and children (over 3 years), 1 to 2 irrigations per day are recommended or according to different medical specifications.

Instructions for use
• Carefully remove the first protective envelope from the bag.
• Warm the bag with the solution to approximately 30-35°C by immersing it in hot water. Then remove the protective cap by unscrewing it.
• Fix the suction cup to a smooth surface above the sink.
• Open the package containing the device.
• Lower the roller wheel until the tube is completely blocked.
• Remove the cap and firmly screw the male connector of the device. Holding the connector between your fingers, with the other hand break the fracture cone (arrowhead part) to activate the bag-device connection.
• Hang the bag on the suction cup, securing it appropriately.
• Tilt your head forward over the sink at a position lower than your shoulders.
• Bring the irrigator nozzle to your nose and gently press on the nostril. Breathe through your mouth throughout the treatment.
• Raise the roller wheel about halfway and then adjust it so that the solution flows gently without going into the throat.
• About halfway through the treatment, change nostrils if necessary.

Materials
This device, supplied in a single sterile blister, consists of:
- n° 1 male Luer lock fitting in ABS; for connection to bags (female Luer lock fittings);
- n° 1 soft PVC tube NO-DOP (without Phthalates), diameter 3.5 x 5.5 x 500 mm;
- n° 1 roller (body + wheel) in PP; for regulating the tube / flow;
- n° 1 dispenser / nozzle in ABS.
