CE 0476 medical device for nasal irrigation, indicated for daily hygiene through nasal mucosa douching, in order to prevent obstructions due to stagnant phlegm secretions or for those suffering from respiratory difficulties due to pathologies such as: allergic rhinitis, rhinosinusitis, turbinate hypertrophy. The hypertonic solution produces a natural decongestion of the mucous membranes.

Intended Use
The device allows sterile and non-pyrogenic (hypertonic) physiological solution contained in 250 or 500 ml bags to flow by gravity or manual pressure into the nasal cavities (upper airways). This device has an irrigating nozzle at one end that directs the jet of physiological solution towards the nasal meatus, exerting a powerful cleansing action in the cavities themselves and in the nasopharynx, promoting the removal of all secretions, dust, allergens and chemical substances that may be present.

Method of use
For adults and children (over 3 years of age), 1 to 2 irrigations per day are recommended or as otherwise specified by a doctor.

Instructions for use
• Carefully remove the first protective bag from the pouch.
• Warm the pouch with the solution to approximately 30-35°C by immersing it in hot water. Then remove the protective cap by unscrewing it.
• Attach the suction cup to a smooth surface above the sink.
• Open the package containing the device.
• Lower the roller wheel until the tube is completely closed.
• Remove the cap and firmly screw on the male fitting of the device. Holding the fitting between your fingers, break the fracture cone (arrowhead part) with the other hand to activate the bag-device connection.
• Hang the bag on the suction cup, securing it properly.
• Tilt your head forward over the sink, in a position lower than your shoulders.
• Bring the irrigating nozzle to your nose and gently press it against the nostril. Breathe through your mouth throughout the treatment.
• Raise the roller wheel approximately halfway, then adjust it so that the solution flows gently without going down your throat.
• Approximately halfway through the treatment, if necessary, switch nostrils.

Materials
This device, supplied in a single sterile blister, consists of:
- No. 1 male Luer lock fitting in ABS; for connection to bags (female Luer lock fittings);
- No. 1 soft NO-DOP (phthalate-free) PVC tube, diameter 3.5 x 5.5 x 500 mm;
- No. 1 roller (body + wheel) in PP; for tube/flow regulation;
- No. 1 dispenser/nozzle in ABS.
