STERILE SOLUTIONThanks to the possibility of adhering a contact glass to the cornea, using this solution, it is possible to explore the irido-corneal angle and the ocular fundus. It is also possible, always using Gel 4000, to perform laser interventions of:
- iridotomy;
- iridoplasty;
- trabeculoplasty;
- capsulotomy:
- vitreolysis;
- retinal photocoagulation.
Finally, using the Gel 4000 solution on the probe, ultrasonography of the eyeball can be performed.
How to use
The product should not be used beyond thirty days after the first opening of the container. The use of the product is reserved for the ophthalmologist.
Characteristics
It is a sterile 2% aqueous solution of hydroxypropylmethylcellulose corresponding, at a temperature of 20 C, to a viscosity degree of 4000 cPs (centipoise). Gel 4000 is characterised by the following chemical-physical properties:
- it is perfectly transparent;
- it is soluble in water in all proportions;
- does not form insoluble precipitates with metal salts or organic residues that may be present;
- it is stable at pH between 2 and 13.
Components
Hydroxypropyl methylcellulose; sodium chloride; sodium merthiolate; sterile purified water.
