ECOLOGICAL THERMOMETER AT GALINSTAN
Description
CE Class I Medical Device.
Galinstan thermometer, an alloy of Tin, Gallium and Indium. Non-toxic. Shockproof container and with measuring column breaker. Practical, precise and reliable. Completely disinfectable and waterproof. Controlled to ensure precision and tolerance of measurement limits.
Minimum measuring range: from 35.5°C to 42.0°C
Solution: 0.1°C
Operating conditions: temperature -15°C to 42°C
How to use
Before taking the temperature, check that the value indicated by the liquid column is below 36°C. Clean the glass thermometer before and after use. Observe the cleaning instructions. Place the thermometer on the body, depending on the type of measurement desired (axillary, rectal and oral). After approximately 4 minutes, the thermometer measures the body temperature. The measuring liquid in the thermometer capillary indicates the body temperature detected on the temperature scale. Reading the temperature can be made easier by slightly rotating the thermometer. After the measurement, the indicator liquid must be brought back below 36°C. To do this, grasp the upper end of the thermometer with your index finger and thumb and shake it with approximately 15-20 rapid movements of the wrist.
Always disinfect the thermometer before and after use. In hospitals, always have disinfection performed by trained personnel.
Oral measurement: The average normal temperature detected is 37°C. It provides accurate results quickly. The bulb of the thermometer is placed on the left or right under the tongue.
Rectal measurement: The average normal temperature is 37.6°C. This type of measurement is mainly used for children. The bulb of the thermometer is inserted into the anus (about 2 cm), applying a skin cream or baby oil to the tip of the bulb. You can use a protective cover for the thermometer. Insert the thermometer into this cover. Spread a water-soluble gel on the cover to facilitate insertion. Do not use Vaseline. Do not insert the tip of the thermometer more than 2 cm into the rectum. Stop the operation if you encounter any resistance.
Axillary measurement: The average normal temperature is 36.7°C. The axillary method of measurement does not provide accurate results like oral or rectal measurement. Rub the hollow of the armpit with a dry cloth. Place the bulb of the thermometer in the hollow of the armpit and press the arm against the torso.
Easy flip: with the Easy flip you can easily reset the liquid measured by the thermometer by shaking it with less force: insert the thermometer into the Easy flip; make sure that the thermometer is fixed in the two supports; hold the Easy flip on the lever between your thumb and forefinger; shake the thermometer back and forth with strong and short movements until the liquid is brought back below 36°C.
Cleaning and disinfection
The thermometer has a hygienic and airtight glass casing and can be disinfected without restrictions. The temperature of the cleaning and disinfecting solution must not exceed 42°C. The glass thermometer can be cleaned before and after use with cold soapy water. Disinfect the thermometer with a cotton ball or cloth soaked in alcohol or immerse the thermometer in a disinfectant solution (soaking time depending on the manufacturer's instructions for the disinfectant). If the thermometer breaks, the leaked liquid can be collected and removed with a brush, a cellulose cloth or a cloth moistened with soapy water. The remains can be disposed of in household waste.
Warnings
Do not drop the thermometer or subject it to shock. Do not bend or bite the tip of the thermometer. Keep out of reach of children. Thermometers with damaged glass coating must no longer be used, due to the risk of injury. The child must always be assisted by an adult during the entire period of use. The measuring liquid Galinstano must not come into contact with noble or light metals, due to the risk of reaction. During the measurement, take the utmost care to avoid any risk of injury. The use of the thermometer does not replace a medical consultation. A persistent fever, especially in children, must be the subject of medical treatment.
Conservation
Store at a temperature between -15°C and +42°C, in a dry place.
