FLEXIBLE PLATES
Description
The Natura + flexible plate consists of a central Stomahesive disc surrounded by a flexible microporous adhesive plaster in non-woven fabric. A circular flange with a small interlocking rail is fixed to the adhesive. This structure allows, thanks to the 8 teeth on the flange of the relative bag, an agile and safe fixing and an airtight seal. In this way it is guaranteed that the bag does not accidentally detach from the plate while ensuring, at the same time, the seal against any infiltration of odors or effluents.
The central disc is made of Stomahesive Technology.
The non-woven backing is made of breathable (microporous) polyester with a built-in hypoallergenic acrylic adhesive that increases the adhesion of the plate to the abdomen.
The plates have the following dimensions:
-External dimension 10 x 10 cm; flange 32 mm.
-External dimension 12.5 x 12.5 cm; flange 70 mm.
The plate is available with flanges of various diameters that allow its use and adaptability to the different shapes and sizes of the stoma. Regardless of the size of the flange, the plate has a central opening hole of 12 mm in diameter that facilitates its customization. For the correct use of the system, it is recommended to always choose a plate with a flange at least 7-8 mm larger than the diameter of the stoma. Each plate is individually packaged in a shaped blister.
The Stomahesive Technology, present in the central area of the skin barrier, protects the peristomal skin, preventing contact of feces or urine with the skin. The opening hole of the plate can be easily cut, allowing for optimal customization to the contour of the stoma. Thanks to the non-woven fabric support, the plate is light, thin and soft and adapts to the abdominal profile even in the presence of skin folds or scars, ensuring maximum comfort and freedom of movement. Finally, the presence of hydrocolloid powders guarantees adhesion in a humid environment, therefore, the barrier maintains its adherence to the skin even during bathing or showering.
For the management of stoma emissions.
For use with colostomy, ileostomy or urostomy.
How to use
Skin preparation:
-Before applying the device, hands and peristomal skin must be clean, dry and free from oily substances.
Skin barrier preparation:
-Cuttable skin barriers: reproduce the shape of the stoma on the protective paper of the skin barrier. Cut the skin barrier following the drawing, taking care to leave at least 0.6 cm of skin barrier between the opening hole and the flange. Smooth the edges of the cut hole with your finger.
-Pre-cut skin barriers: Select the skin barrier with the pre-cut opening the same size as the stoma.
Application of skin barrier:
-Remove the clear protective paper from the back of the skin barrier. Center the hole around the stoma. Hold the baseplate pressed in place for at least 30 seconds. If present, remove the white protective paper. Smooth the barrier in place and remove any wrinkles. Keep in place for as long as it feels comfortable and secure. Wear time may vary.
Application of the bag:
-Before applying the bag, let a small amount of air enter the bag, stretching it slightly. Align the skin barrier and the flange of the bag and press starting from the bottom of the flange. Then proceed towards the top of the flange, pressing all around the circumference. Pull the bag to check that it is correctly attached.
Closing the bag:
-Open-bottom bags: Roll up the bottom of the bag starting with the white discharge tabs until the Velcro strips overlap. Press them together along the entire length and squeeze until you feel them closed properly. If desired, you can hide the closure by turning it inside out in the pocket on the outside of the bag or by placing it under the liner on the skin side.
Emptying the bag:
-Open-bottom bags: unhook the bag closure and open the bottom by pushing both ends of the discharge tabs inwards with your fingers; empty the bag.
During water activities such as bathing or swimming, cover the filter with the appropriate adhesive sticker. Remove the sticker at the end of the activity.
Components
Total skin barrier composed of inert and non-irritating hydrocolloid substances: gelatin, pectin, sodium carboxymethylcellulose, polyisobutylene.
Warnings
Extreme caution should be exercised when using adhesive products around a non-protruding urostomy, especially when associated with megaureters and in the absence of a urinary reservoir. In some rare cases, adhesive substances have been found in the renal collecting system of these patients. If a mass is found in the urinary tract, consider continuing to use the adhesive product and initiating appropriate clinical management.
Before using a convex skin barrier, consult a healthcare professional to determine if it is necessary. The adhesive tape may irritate the skin of patients who use diapers. If irritation occurs, cut the tape and remove it from the skin barrier. Protect the stoma from trauma or injury.
This device is intended for single use only and should not be reused. Reuse may increase the risk of infection or cross-contamination. Reuse may cause the physical properties of the device to no longer be optimal for its intended use.
After use, the product may pose a potential biohazard. Handle and dispose of the product in accordance with accepted medical practices and all applicable local laws and regulations.
If, during the use of this device or as a result of its use, a serious problem occurs, report the problem to the manufacturer and the competent national authority.
