Enteral tube nutrition. The Bag with infusion set for Infinity, Gravity and 800 feeding pumps is a delivery system consisting of an empty bag in ethyl-vinyl-acetate (EVA), filled from above, and an infusion set integrated into it for connection to the nutritional tube (length 230 cm). The infusion set is equipped with an ENFit connector specific for enteral nutrition, both for connection to the tubes and for connection to the lateral access.
Selecting the best connection for the patient means choosing the most appropriate and safe connection. Ideally this connection will have no adapters (or a limited number); this avoids confusion, improves safety, and produces the least amount of waste products.
The device is free of latex and phthalates.
Recommendations
Tube feeding should only be started after the correct position of the tube has been validated (e.g. by measuring the pH of the gastric contents). Follow aseptic practices when handling food, tubes and feeding sets. Flush the tube before and after administration of food and medications, and at least 3 times a day. Sets should be changed every 24 hours. In the case of powdered foods the withdrawal time is only 8 hours due to the risk of contamination.
