Nasogastric tube in PUR
Description
Medical Device Class CE IIB (Directive 93/42/EEC).
Enteral tube feeding for long-term use. The nasogastric tube for enteral feeding in polyurethane (PUR) is equipped with a lubricated mandrel. The device is equipped with a specific male ENFit connector for enteral feeding that allows it to be connected to the female ENFit terminal connector of enteral feeding sets and syringes in order to avoid improper connections (ISO 80369-3).
Flocare nasogastric tubes are characterized by:
male ENFit connector with closing cap, compatible with ENFit type syringes and incompatible with other connections (e.g. Luer lock) to ensure greater patient safety and avoid improper connections;
three radiopaque lines that allow you to evaluate the correct positioning of the probe;
two different graduated notches, blue in colour, with intervals of 2 cm and 1 cm;
distal end with two lateral holes and one apical one;
mandrel (=metal guide wire) coated in silicone to facilitate the positioning and reinsertion procedure in the probe in order to remove any sedimentation that could cause obstruction of the probe itself.
The device is free of latex and phthalates.
The product is sterilized by ethylene oxide.
Recommendations
Polyurethane/silicone probes should be lubricated with water or water-soluble gel only. Probes should be washed before and after feeding and medication, at least 3 times a day.

Mandrel: Silicone coated stainless steel.
