PODALUX II POST-OPERATIVE SHOE FOR HALLUX VALGUS SMALL DJO ITALIA
DJO ITALY
DONJOY
PODALUX II
Description
CE Class I Medical Device (Dir 93/42/EEC). Non-sterile.
Post-operative shoe with variable stiffness. For hallux valgus.
Patented removable rigid plate for strength and arch support. The insole can vary from rigid to semi-rigid, based on post-operative rehabilitation protocols. Heel protection and ankle stability, to reduce the load on the forefoot. Non-slip oscillating sole for additional stability to the foot and ankle during walking. Wide forefoot shape: the front edge shelters the toes for greater protection and can be trimmed if necessary. Full contact under the toes, which reduces curling and improves balance. Breathable micro-mesh lining and ankle padding. Hook and loop closure for easy donning and adjustment. Additional removable band for bulky bandages. Removable toe cover mask (included). Ambidextrous
Particularly indicated for hallux valgus, hallux rigidus, bunionectomy, hammer toes, claw toes, stress fractures, metatarsal injuries, soft tissue injuries or surgeries.
Keeps foot, toes and forefoot in correct position during rehabilitation.
How to use
The Podalux II post-operative shoe allows you to adjust its rigidity. If your post-operative protocol requires less rigidity, remove the rigid foot plate.
1) Open the contact closure straps.
2) To remove the foot plate, pull out the insole, remove the foot plate and replace the insole.
3) Insert your foot into the shoe.
4) Close the contact closure straps starting with the distal strap, continuing with the proximal strap.
5) Test the shoe by walking a short distance and readjust the fastening straps if necessary.
If the shoe closure straps are too short or do not achieve a proper fit, use the removable strap. Place the removable strap over the top of the shoe and press the closure straps into place. A short sock is also included for forefoot protection. Do not attach the closure straps to the sock.
Maintenance
Hand wash in cold water with mild soap and rinse thoroughly. Air dry. Do not tumble dry or bleach.
