• Color: yellow.
Intended use
These products are designed to fit inside the ear canal to help reduce exposure to dangerous levels of noise and loud sounds.
Attention
• Always ensure that the complete product is:
- suitable for the application;
- worn correctly;
- worn for the entire exposure period;
- replaced when necessary.
• Some chemicals may affect this product.
• Contact 3M for further information.
• Corded earplugs should not be used where there is a possibility of the cord becoming tangled during use.
• Proper selection, training, use and maintenance are essential to ensure the user receives adequate noise protection.
• Failure to follow all instructions for use relating to this product for personal protection and/or failure to use this product for the entire period of exposure may result in adverse health consequences for the user and may cause serious illness or permanent disability.
• Read all instructions for use and retain for continued reference.
Wearing instructions
Before wearing the inserts, check the integrity of the product and make sure it is not damaged or torn.
If you notice any damage, replace the product with a new pair immediately.
Wash your hands before putting on earplugs.
Always wear earplugs before entering a noise-prone area.
1. Roll the insert until you obtain a well-compressed cylinder.
2. Grasp the auricle with the opposite hand and pull the top part to open the ear canal.
3. Insert the tapered insert into the ear canal, simultaneously pulling the auricle outward and upward.
Hold in place until the insert expands again.
Checking the seal
When the inserts have been inserted correctly, your voice should sound muffled and surrounding sounds should be quieter than before.
Check fit frequently during periods of noise exposure.
If the inserts were to loosen, the actual protection offered against dangerous noises could be significantly reduced.
To re-insert them, follow steps 1-3 above.

The size and shape of the ear canal is unique to each person.
If you are unable to fit these earplugs properly and achieve the proper comfort, contact your safety manager or 3M representative for further advice.
