Description
Preservative-free hyperosmolar ophthalmic solution.
It is recommended to reduce post-operative and post-traumatic corneal edema, as well as those due to corneal dystrophy. Corneal edema occurs when the cornea has an abnormal accumulation of fluids.
The hypersaline solution ODM 5 uses the osmotic effect to draw excess fluids out of the cornea, so that the latter can temporarily regain an optimal state of hydration. ODM 5 thus contributes to improving visual quality.
Contains sodium hyaluronate, a component naturally present in the eye, which helps protect the cornea thanks to its lubricating properties.
How to use
Wash your hands thoroughly before instilling.
Before using for the first time, check that the safety ring is intact and then remove it. Remove the protective cap by pulling upwards. Place the bottle above the eye, with the tip pointing downwards. Hold the bottle in the centre with your thumb and forefinger. Press gently, applying progressive force to the bottle with your thumb and forefinger, until a drop of ophthalmic solution comes out.
Instill 1-2 drops 4 times a day, as prescribed by your doctor. Instill the drops into the lower conjunctival sac of the eye, looking up and slightly pulling down the lower eyelid. After instillation, keep the eye closed for 1-2 minutes.
Replace the protective cap after each use, making sure that no residual drops remain on the tip; if necessary, make them fall with a firm movement of the wrist.
Avoid contact of the tip of the bottle with the eye and eyelids.
No need to rinse after use.
Components
Sodium chloride 5%, sodium hyaluronate 0.15%.
Other ingredients: purified water, sodium citrate dihydrate, citric acid monohydrate, hydroxypropyl methylcellulose.
Warnings
Do not ingest.
Do not use the bottle if it is damaged.
Do not use after the expiration date printed on the bottle. Close the bottle carefully after each use, making sure that no residual drops remain on the tip.
Avoid contact of the tip of the bottle with your hands, eyes and eyelids. Avoid touching or wiping the tip with your fingers or with a non-sterile tissue.
If your doctor has prescribed another eye drop, leave at least 15 minutes between one instillation and the next.
Keep out of sight and reach of children.
Contraindicated in case of hypersensitivity to one of the components and contact lenses (ODM 5 is not compatible with contact lenses).
In some cases, during instillation, temporary disturbances may appear such as a slight burning sensation or itching, as well as momentary blurred vision. If the side effects persist or in case of side effects not described in the package leaflet, stop using the product and consult a doctor.
Conservation
Store at room temperature (between +2 °C and +25 °C).
Validity after opening: 3 months.
