PROFAR PROFAR DIGITAL THERMOMETER WITH FLEXIBLE TIP
PROFAR MEDICATION
FLEXIBLE DIGITAL THERMOMETER
Description
Digital thermometer.
Instructions for use
1. Press the power button.
2. Place the thermometer in the desired location (mouth, rectum, or armpit).
a. Oral measurement: place the thermometer under the tongue. Close your mouth and breathe regularly through your nose to prevent the measurement from being affected by inhaled/exhaled air. Normal temperature is between 35.7 °C and 37.3 °C.
b. Rectal measurement: lubricate the silver probe tip with gel for easier insertion. Gently insert the sensor about 1 cm into the rectum. Normal temperature is between 36.2 °C and 37.7 °C.
c. Axillary measurement: carefully dry the armpit. Place the probe under the armpit and hold the arm pressed. From a medical point of view, this method always provides imprecise readings and should not be used. Normal temperature is between 35.2 °C and 36.7 °C.
3. The degree symbol will flash throughout the verification process. When the display stops flashing, an audible signal will be emitted for about 10 seconds. At the same time, the measured reading is displayed on the LCD. Wait the minimum measurement time until the acoustic tone (beep). Measurement continues even after the beep. However, the displayed temperature will not change once the thermometer is removed from the verification position.
4. To extend battery life, press the on/off button to turn off the thermometer after taking the measurement. If the thermometer is not manually turned off, it will automatically shut down after approximately 10 minutes.
5. Store the thermometer in its protective case.
Warnings
Carefully read the instructions before using the digital thermometer.
Choking hazard: the capsule and the thermometer battery can be fatal if swallowed. Do not allow children to use this device without parental supervision.
Do not insert the thermometer into the ears. The device is designed for oral, rectal, and axillary use only.
Do not place the thermometer battery near heat sources as it may explode.
Note: the use of a probe cover may result in a discrepancy of 0.1 °C (0.2 °F) from the actual temperature.
Check the device's performance every two years.
Remove the battery from the device if not used for long periods of time.
Using temperature readings for self-diagnosis is dangerous. Consult your doctor for interpretation of the results. Self-diagnosis can lead to a worsening of the existing condition.
Do not attempt to take measurements if the thermometer is wet as readings may not be accurate.
Do not bite the thermometer. Failure to observe this precaution can result in damage and/or serious injury.
Do not attempt to disassemble or repair the thermometer. Failure to observe this precaution can lead to inaccurate readings.
Disinfect the thermometer after each use, especially if it is used by more than one person.
Do not push the thermometer too far into the rectum. Stop insertion and discontinue measurement if pain occurs. Failure to observe this precaution can result in serious injury.
Do not use the thermometer orally after using it rectally.
