Description
Karos Gola pastilles, thanks to the hydrating and protective film that it forms with saliva, is indicated in all cases of inflamed oral mucosa, such as: conditions of the oral cavity and upper respiratory tract (such as pharyngitis and pharyngitis, both in the acute and chronic phase); sore throat; dry cough; difficulty swallowing; furthermore, thanks to its barrier action, it reduces inflammation of the vocal cords, improves their viscoelastic properties and reduces hoarseness and dysphonia.
Thanks to its barrier action, Karos Gola pastilles are also indicated as an adjuvant in re-epithelialization processes, for example in the presence of gastric reflux and in patients undergoing radiotherapy of the oral cavity.
The hydrogel that forms in association with saliva when Karos Gola lozenges are dissolved in the mouth, deposits as a protective film on the inflamed mucous membranes of the mouth and pharynx, promoting the healing process of the mucous membranes.

Package Contents
The Karos Gola pastilles package contains: 1 aluminium tube containing 20 lemon-flavoured lozenges to dissolve in the mouth.

Composition
Carbomer, xanthan gum, sodium hyaluronate, mannitol, sodium hydrogen carbonate, sorbitol, citric acid, aspartame, vitamin C, flavouring, zinc citrate dihydrate.

Frequency and method of use
Children aged 6 to 10: 1 tablet every 4 + 5 hours; do not exceed the dose of 3 tablets per day.
Adults and children over 10 years: 1 tablet every 2 + 3 hours; do not exceed the dose of 6 tablets per day.
Allow the Karos Gola lozenge to dissolve slowly in your mouth.
Karos Gola lozenges should not be chewed or swallowed whole.

Warnings
Do not use Karos Gola lozenges after the expiry date stated on the package.
The expiration date refers to the last day of the month.
Do not use Karos Gola lozenges if the packaging is opened or damaged.
Before using Karos Gola lozenges in children over 6 years of age, it is necessary to check the child's actual ability to suck the lozenge, avoiding the risk that the lozenge may be swallowed entirely.
Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of Karos Gola lozenges that you no longer use; do not throw Karos Gola lozenges into wastewater or household waste, this will help protect the environment.
Karos Gola lozenges are in addition to and do not replace other therapeutic treatments possibly prescribed by your doctor.

Interactions
Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken or might take any other medicines, as Karos Gola lozenges form a hydrogel film, which may delay the absorption of other medicines.
Additionally Karos Gola lozenges contain zinc, which may reduce the effect of other medicines.
It is recommended to leave an interval of 3 hours between taking Karos Gola and other medicines.

Contraindications and side effects
Do not use Karos Gola lozenges in case of hypersensitivity to one or more components.
Do not use Karos Gola lozenges if you suffer from dry mouth (example: Sjogren's syndrome).
Do not use Karos Gola lozenges in children under 6 years of age.
Karos Gola lozenges contain aspartame, a source of phenylalanine, which may be harmful to people with phenylketonuria.
Karos Gola pastilles contain sorbitol: if you are intolerant to some sugars, consult your doctor or pharmacist before use.
Excessive consumption of Karos Gola lozenges may cause laxative effects.
