AFTIR FLASH GEL 100 ML
AFTIR FLASH GEL
Description
Gel based on dimethicone and isopropyl myristate formulated for the treatment of head lice and nits in adults and children.
Treatment for the elimination of head lice and nits. AFTIR FLASH gel kills lice through a physical mechanism (suffocation) and prevents the development of nits (lice eggs).
Head lice cannot develop resistance to the product, as AFTIR FLASH gel works mechanically, not chemically or pharmacologically. AFTIR FLASH gel does not contain insecticides.
AFTIR FLASH gel can be used on adults and children from 4 years of age.
Instructions for use
Carefully follow the instructions to ensure complete elimination of the head lice infestation.
Adults can perform the treatment on their own; however, to optimize results, it is advisable to get help during application and combing.
The treatment on children must be performed by an adult.
1. Apply AFTIR FLASH gel to dry hair.
- Before starting, place a light-colored towel on the shoulders of the person being treated.
- Comb dry hair with a regular comb to detangle knots.
- Apply the product to dry hair, completely covering the hair and scalp. Gather long hair with a clip.
- Proceed from the forehead to the top of the head. Continue downwards, from the top of the head to the ears and towards the nape.
Thoroughly rub AFTIR FLASH gel onto the scalp and all the hair. Apply a generous amount of AFTIR FLASH gel to cover all the hair from roots to tips. The amount of gel needed depends on the length and type of hair.
Generally, 30-50 ml of gel is needed.
- Massage well from roots to tips, paying particular attention to the area behind the ears and the nape of the neck.
2. Leave AFTIR FLASH gel on the hair for 5 minutes. Do not exceed 15 minutes.
During this time, head lice die.
Prolonging the application time does not increase the effectiveness of the product.
3. Remove AFTIR FLASH gel with a regular shampoo.
Apply a generous amount of waterless shampoo and massage it into the hair. Rinse with water. If necessary, repeat the shampoo to avoid a greasy or dirty feeling after treatment. For long hair, it is recommended to use a conditioner to facilitate combing.
4. Carefully comb wet hair.
To remove dead lice, use the included metal-toothed lice comb. Comb each section of hair methodically. Comb in good lighting conditions, such as natural light. Using the included anti-lice comb increases the effectiveness of the treatment.
It is recommended to divide the hair into four sections (from forehead to nape and from one ear to the other) and to comb each section separately:
a) take a strand from the section, comb from root to tip, and move the free strand away from lice/nits;
b) rinse or clean the comb with a cotton pad after each pass to remove lice and nits, in order to avoid reinfestation, and continue with the next strand;
c) continue with each strand until the section is free of lice and nits; proceed in this manner with the other sections.
Always comb from the roots to the tips. It may be necessary to manually remove nits from the hair.
5. Repeat the treatment after 7 days and, if necessary, after 14 days.
Repeat steps 1 to 4 after 7 days and, if necessary, after 14 days to eliminate newly hatched lice. Nits exposed to AFTIR FLASH gel will be inhibited in their development, and many may not hatch. Inactivated nits will remain attached to the hair. This ensures that the life cycle of head lice is completely interrupted, which is very important for the success of the treatment.
Check the head every week to prevent lice infestations. If an infestation is not ongoing, avoid using AFTIR FLASH gel: unnecessary applications may not prevent future infestations but could potentially cause avoidable side effects.
Components
100 g of product contain dimethicone (4 g), isopropyl myristate (11 g), propylene glycol, pentylene glycol, caprylic glycol, isopropyl alcohol, carbomer.
Warnings
- Adults can perform the treatment themselves; however, to optimize results, it is advisable to get help during application and combing.
- Treatment on children must be performed by an adult.
- If a family member is infested with lice, it is advisable to check the entire family as lice are transmitted through close contact. By treating everyone on the same day, the chances of reinfestation are minimized. Use the included lice comb to check for lice in the hair of other family members. Take all necessary measures to prevent the spread of lice: check brushes, combs, bedding, pillows, and other items that may have been or come into contact with the head.
- If reinfestation occurs between the first and second treatment (for example through direct contact with individuals infested with head lice), perform another treatment with AFTIR FLASH gel. Then repeat the treatment after 7 days and, if necessary, after 14 days. Discontinue treatment if redness or other signs of skin irritation (dryness, flaking, dandruff) appear and do not repeat until the skin has healed.
- Do not use on children under 4 years of age.
- AFTIR FLASH gel works through physical action; however, in case of pregnancy or breastfeeding, consult a doctor or pharmacist before using the product.
- If AFTIR FLASH gel is spilled on the floor or other surfaces, they may become slippery.
- Avoid letting the product drip onto the neck, shoulders, and nape. If the product comes into contact with the skin, rinse thoroughly with water and soap. During application, do not cover the hair (for example with shower caps or plastic wrap).
- For external use only, do not ingest. In case of ingestion, contact a doctor or poison control center, keeping the package handy to help the doctor identify the product.
- Do not use AFTIR FLASH gel after the expiration date indicated on the package.
- During the application and placement of the product, keep hair away from flames or heat sources such as lit cigarettes, lighters, sparks, hair dryers, heaters, etc. Do not smoke during the treatment.
- Do not use if the packaging is damaged before use.
- Keep out of sight and reach of children.
- Do not use this product if the scalp is irritated or damaged.
- For head lice infestations only (not for body or pubic parasites).
- Not suitable for veterinary use.
- Avoid excessive use. Excessive or too frequent use, or application of AFTIR FLASH gel not in accordance with the instructions, may cause irritation and dryness of the skin, discomfort to the scalp, hair damage. Side effects should be temporary, although bothersome.
- Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes (nose, mouth). In case of contact with eyes, rinse thoroughly with running water.
- After use, dispose of the product according to current regulations on urban waste disposal.
Contraindications and unwanted side effects
- AFTIR FLASH gel should not be used on/by individuals sensitive to any of its ingredients. In case of doubt, test AFTIR FLASH gel on a small skin area before first use.
