Description
Medical Device in class IIa.
Oral drops based on simethicone, useful for the treatment of dyspepsia, bloating, aerophagia, and colic
Indicated for the treatment of dyspeptic disorders, gastroenteric bloating, aerophagia, and colic in infants, children, and adults.
Ingredients
Simethicone in olive oil, vitamin E, and coenzyme Q10.
How to use
Single dose: 20 drops of BBcolic contain 40 mg of simethicone.
Infants: 20 drops, possibly diluted in a liquid, 1-2 times a day.
Children: 20 drops, possibly diluted in a liquid, 1-3 times a day.
Adults: 20-40 drops, possibly diluted in a liquid, 2-4 times a day.
Administer BBcolic preferably after meals.
It is advisable, in any case, to consult a doctor for the most appropriate dosage.
Shake well before use and close the bottle after use.
Warnings
The device is not subject to particular precautions for use, however, it is advised:
- the product may appear in two separate phases; after shaking it should appear as a homogeneous emulsion;
- keep out of reach of children;
- do not exceed the recommended doses;
- do not use the product after the expiration date; the expiration date refers to the intact and properly stored product;
- do not use the product if the packaging is not intact;
- all components of the product, including the dropper, must be intact;
- if, after a treatment period of 7 days, no improvements are observed, consult a doctor;
- in case of adverse reactions, discontinue use of the product and consult a doctor to establish appropriate therapy;
- during use, if accidental contamination of the dropper is suspected, wash it thoroughly before reinserting it into the bottle to prevent possible contamination;
- following the instructions in the package leaflet reduces the risk of side effects;
- it is important to inform the doctor or pharmacist of any occurrence of side effects not described in this package leaflet;
- do not use in case of suspected intestinal or ileal perforation;
- do not use in case of known hypersensitivity to one or more components of the product;
Like all products based on simethicone, this medical device may cause side effects, although not everyone experiences them.
It is advisable to inform the doctor if, during the use of BBcolic, the following side effects are observed:
- vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal or ileal pain, nausea;
- skin rashes;
- swelling of the face, eyes, lips, tongue, throat with breathing difficulties (angioedema).
Such effects occur very rarely.
No overdose phenomena have been reported.
No interactions with other drugs or incompatibilities with other pharmaceutical products are known or reported. However, literature reports a case of interaction between simethicone and levothyroxine; therefore, in case of therapies with levothyroxine-based drugs, use BBcolic only after medical advice.
Pregnancy: there are no adequate data on the use of the product in pregnant women; therefore, it should not be used unless there is a real need and after evaluation by a doctor.
Breastfeeding: it is not known whether simethicone is excreted in breast milk; therefore, it should not be used unless there is a real need and after evaluation by a doctor.
Storage
Store away from heat sources and at room temperature.
Validity in intact packaging: 24 months.
Validity after opening: 1 month.
