Description
Device used for the containment of uterine prolapse. It is an invasive device that penetrates the body through a natural orifice (different from a surgically invasive device); it is not intended to be connected to an active medical device. The continuous use time on the patient must be defined by competent medical personnel.
Instructions for use
Fold the ring into an ellipse to facilitate insertion. Pass beyond the osteo-vaginal opening. Encircle the cervix. Use the device in compliance with all instructions given by the competent medical personnel at the time of insertion. Never interfere with the device on your own initiative. In case of any abnormal sensation of discomfort, contact medical personnel.
Cleaning
Before using the device, wash it with lukewarm water and neutral soap, then rinse with saline solution. Do not use brushes for washing, only soft sponges, so as not to scratch the surface of the device. Do not use alcohol, solvents, and acids to clean the device surfaces or liquids that could damage the device. After cleaning, do not leave the device unattended, but place it immediately in the vaginal area. The device can be sterilized for first use in a steam autoclave for up to two consecutive cycles set at a temperature of 121 °C for 15 minutes.
Warnings
Before unpacking, ensure that the packaging is intact and sealed inside the specially prepared polyethylene bag. Before use, ensure that the device:
- is intact and undamaged (e.g., no cracks, dents, tears);
- has not changed color, taken on uneven colors, has no superficial mold, etc.
In such cases, do not use and replace it immediately.
A whitish superficial coloration caused by the protective film of talc, or another equivalent product, used during the production process, is not indicative of improper storage (or a damaged product).
Storage
The device is supplied with standard packaging that ensures proper storage before use. To maintain proper preservation over time, it is recommended to always use the original packaging together with a cool and dry environment, not in direct contact with heat radiating sources, protected from dust and harmful materials, and out of reach of children. Do not stack heavy objects on top of the device/do not subject it to mechanical stress.
