Macrostip
Description
Medical device based on Macrogol 4,000, indicated for the treatment of chronic constipation; treatment of fecaloma; situations in which complete cleansing and cleansing of the colon is required; treatment of constipation with episodic or chronic colic.
Macrostip is a product with laxative action that, thanks to the osmotic mechanism, regulates intestinal functions. It is not absorbed, nor ferments in the intestine, does not irritate the mucosa and is eliminated in the feces in an unchanged form.
Thanks to its affinity for water, Macrostip softens the stool, facilitating evacuation. Its action does not decrease over time.
How to use
Constipation
Adults, elderly and children from 12 years: 1 full dose sachet (10 g) 1-3 times a day. Open the sachet along the dotted line and dilute the contents in 125 ml (about 1 glass of still water). In case of prolonged use, the dose can be reduced to 1-2 sachets per day.
Children 7 to 11 years: half a sachet (5 g) twice a day. Dilute the contents in 62.5 ml (about half a glass of still water).
Children 3 to 6 years: half a sachet (5 g) once a day. Dilute the contents in 62.5 ml (about half a glass of still water).
Colon cleansing
Adults: 23 sachets dissolved in 4 litres of water (each sachet dissolved in 175 ml of water) to be taken in a single dose the afternoon before the exam or divided into two doses, 2 litres the evening before the exam and 2 litres on the morning of the exam.
Dissolve the contents in a glass of water (125 ml). Drink the reconstituted solution. It is possible to divide the daily dose into several administrations. It is recommended to take Macrostip sachets away from meals.

One 10 g sachet of powder contains Macrogol 4,000 10 g.
Without gluten, lactose , preservatives and flavourings.
Warnings
Do not take Macrostip in case of known hypersensitivity to the raw materials, gastrointestinal perforation and/or obstruction, known gastric or intestinal lesions, severe inflammatory diseases of the gastrointestinal tract such as Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis and toxic megacolon.
It is advisable to take the product at least 2 hours after taking orally administered drugs, since the osmotic power of macrogol and the increase in gastrointestinal transit speed induced may negatively affect their action. Consult your doctor before taking Macrostip if you are undergoing other therapies. Macrostip may potentially interact if used with starch-based food thickeners. The macrogol ingredient counteracts the thickening effect of starch, thereby liquefying preparations that must remain dense for people with swallowing problems.
While taking it, you may experience side effects such as indigestion, stomach pain or rumbling, bloating, flatulence, nausea, vomiting, anal irritation and mild diarrhea. These effects improve by reducing the dose. In case of allergic reactions, you should stop taking it and contact your doctor.
Keep out of the reach and sight of children. Consult your doctor before taking the product during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Use in children under 12 years of age should preferably take place under medical supervision. Do not use Macrostip for more than 30 consecutive days, if symptoms persist consult your doctor. Avoid contact with eyes. Do not use after the expiry date. Treatment of fecal impaction requires the intervention of a preventive medical opinion.
Conservation
Store tightly closed in a cool, dry place away from light and heat.
The expiry date refers to the product in its intact packaging, stored correctly.
