Its components act at the level of the reticular structure and not at the level of the limbic system like synthetic sedatives (Benzodiazepines). 1,2 It has the property of moderating nervous excitability and facilitating the release of endorphins.

It acts on the central nervous system. It promotes relaxation and physiological rest. 3,4
Passion flower
Its action is expressed on the central nervous system, but it also shows notable peripheral activity on smooth muscles. 5,6
