SCREENVET RAPID TEST VETERINARY PANLEUKOPENIA FECES/VOMITING CAT SCREEN ITALIA
VETERINARY SCREEN TEST
ScreenVe Panleukopenia
Panleukopenia Rapid Test (Feces or Vomit)
Description
Lateral flow immunochromatographic test for the qualitative detection of Feline Panleukopenia Virus (FPV Ag) from cat feces or vomit.
The test is based on the direct (or sandwich) method. During the test, the sample is applied to the well (S) on the test cassette. The FPV antigens, if present in the sample, react with the anti-FPV antibodies coated with gold particles that are in the test strip. The mixture then migrates up the membrane chromatographically by capillary action and reacts with the anti-FPV antibodies in the membrane at the test line region.
If the sample contains Feline Panleukopenia Virus, a colored line appears in the test line region indicating a positive result.
If the sample does not contain FPV antigen, no colored line appears in the test line region indicating a negative result.
As a procedural control feature, a colored line will always appear in the control line region, indicating that the correct volume of sample has been added and membrane wipe has occurred.
How to use
Before performing the test, ensure that the cassette, specimen, reagent and/or controls are at room temperature (15-30°C).
Remove the test cassette from the foil pouch and use it as soon as possible. Best results will be obtained if the test is performed within at least one hour.
Collect the cat's feces or vomit with the swab from the cat's anus or on the ground. Insert the swab with the sample into the reagent tube provided. Mix to ensure a good amount of sample is extracted.
Place the test on a clean, flat surface. With the dropper in a vertical position, transfer 3 drops of extracted sample (approximately 120 mcL) into the well (S) on the cassette, then start the timer.
Read the result at 5 minutes. Do not interpret the results after 10 minutes.
Interpretation of results
POSITIVE: two lines appear, the control line (C) and the test line (T). The result should be interpreted as positive regardless of the color intensity of the test line (T).
NEGATIVE: Only one line appears, the control line (C). The test line (T) does not appear.
INVALID: The control line (C) does not appear. Regardless of whether the test line (T) appears or not, the result is to be interpreted as invalid.
Warnings
Do not use beyond expiration date.
Handle all specimens as if they contain infectious agents. Observe established precautions against microbiological hazards during testing and follow standard procedures for proper disposal of specimens.
Wear disposable gloves and eye protection when handling samples.
Humidity and ambient temperature can negatively affect the results.
Do not remove the test cassette from the packaging until ready to use.
Do not reuse the test.
Do not mix components from different batches and products.
For in vitro veterinary diagnostic use only.
All results should always be evaluated by the veterinarian in conjunction with other available clinical data. Confirmatory methods such as PCR testing are recommended to confirm the results.
Conservation
Store in the sealed container at room temperature or refrigerated (2-30°C). Do not freeze.
The test is stable until the expiration date printed on the sealed pouch. The test cassette must remain in the sealed pouch until use.
Validity with intact packaging: 24 months.
Format
The kit contains:
- 1 test;
- 1 dropper;
- 1 test tube containing extraction reagent;
- 1 swab;
