DescriptionProduct for ophthalmic use for dogs, cats, non-DPA horses and pet rabbits consisting of a sterile 2% colloidal solution of hydroxypropylmethylcellulose, to be used in the ophthalmic field for diagnostic purposes or as an ocular lubricant in eye operations.
It is characterized by the following chemical-physical properties: perfectly transparent, soluble in water in all proportions, stable at pH between 2 and 13, does not form insoluble precipitates with metal salts or with any organic residues that may be present. The hydroxypropylmethylcellulose content, at a temperature of 20°C, results in a viscosity level of 4,000 cPs (centipoise).
Due to these characteristics and the high degree of viscosity placed on the cornea, it allows the use of contact glasses for diagnostic purposes.
How to use
- Remove the safety ring by lifting the tab, remove the bottle cap and hold it between the thumb and forefinger of your dominant hand.
- Hold the animal's head still by containing the muzzle with your non-dominant hand.
- Place your dominant hand sideways over the animal's head so that you can gently pull the upper eyelid with the outer edge of your little finger to facilitate exposure of the eye.
- Place the bottle over the eye and instill the necessary quantity of drops by applying light pressure on the body of the bottle.
- Reward the animal after application.
Components
Purified water, hydroxypropyl methylcellulose 2%, sodium chloride, sodium merthiolate.
Warnings
- To avoid the formation of air bubbles inside the bottle, it is recommended to store it upside down.
- Ophthalmic product for veterinary use.
- Avoid touching the tip of the bottle to your eye.
- Do not use the product after the expiry date shown on the package.
- Allow 10-15 minutes to pass between instilling Viscostil and any instillation of drugs or products for external ophthalmic use.
- Do not use in case of subjective hypersensitivity or known incompatibility to any component of the preparation.
- Keep out of sight and reach of children.
- Do not dispose of the container in the environment after use.
