Description
Food supplement designed for the health needs of women during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Based on folic acid (Quatrefolic) and iodine useful in case of increased need or reduced dietary intake of these nutrients. The supplemental intake of folic acid increases the maternal folate status. A low maternal folate status is a risk factor for the development of neural tube defects in the fetus. The beneficial effect is obtained with a daily supplemental intake of folic acid of 400 mcg for at least one month before up to three months after conception. Folic acid also contributes to the growth of maternal tissues during pregnancy and to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue. Iodine contributes to normal cognitive function. Finally, selenium contributes to the normal function of the immune system and to the protection of cells from oxidative stress.
Ingredients
Stabilizers: microcrystalline cellulose and dicalcium phosphate; firming agent: mono and diglycerides of fatty acids; anti-caking agents: magnesium salts of fatty acids and silicon dioxide; L-selenomethionine, Quatrefolic [(6S)-5 - methyltetrahydrofolic acid glucosamine salt], potassium iodide.
