Sage grows in dry and sunny places, especially in Central and Southern Italy and the islands, from the sea to the sub-mountain area. The leaves are used, collected from April to July and dried. It is well known that sage has been considered an excellent condiment in the kitchen since ancient times. In traditional herbal practice, the infusion used for gargles is excellent against sore throats and tonsillitis, while mouthwashes can be effective for gum infections.
